Of all the banking business in the Valencian Community, Bankia represents 16.75% in data from the first quarter of 2020, as it has been able to contrast with the Economía 3 entity, in addition to confirming that it has a market share per branch of 17. 39% as of June 30, when in official figures the entity had 400 offices and 2,478 employees in the region. A territory, therefore, that continues to represent a bastion for the entity, as recognized on July 9 by its own president, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri who, in what was his first visit outside the community of Madrid after the State of Alarmed, he wanted to visit Valencia, which he considers his “home”. Thus he recalled that more than 20% of the entity's business is located in the Community, with 1.5 million clients and where the bank has maintained its headquarters since its constitution.
A percentage of business that is clearly higher than that of the entity chaired by Jordi Gual in the Valencian Community. Although CaixaBank prefers not to make territorialized data public, the director of this Territorial, Xicu Costa , acknowledged in the last interview given to this medium at the beginning of 2019 that the Community represented approximately 8% of CaixaBank's global Whatsapp Number List business: 6. 9% of the resources and 8.4% of the investments, also detailing that the asset/liability structure of the entity in the Valencian market was "quite balanced, with 60% resources and 40% investment." Regarding the number of offices in the region, CaixaBank also presents lower figures, at the end of 2019 it had 346 offices and a staff of 1,820 people in the Community, which according to June data was reduced to 334.
However, if what the Comunitat represents for both entities in terms of business, percentage-wise, presents large differences – in the case of Bankia 20% and in that of CaixaBank 8% – in absolute figures the amounts are considerably equal. If we take into account that the entity led by Gonzalo Gortázar presented in its latest results, as of June 2020, a record business volume figure (credits+resources) of 643,631 million euros, the Community's contribution would be close to 51,500 million, while, in the case of Bankia, 20% would represent 53,600 million of a total business volume of 268,000 million. Of these 643,631 million, the highest figure since the creation of CaixaBank, gross customer credit reaches 242,956 million (+6.8% in the year), essentially as a consequence of the increase in credit to companies (+15.9 %), a segment in which the Community is very dynamic, and customer resources amounted to 400,675 million (+4.3% in the year), driven by the strong growth of demand deposits.
